Sociability and comfort is extremely important for people here, and there are plenty of opportunities to just sit and chat or party. Visitors and guests are always welcome to celebrate together.
The big event in Bad Dürkheim must surely be the Wurstmarkt, the largest wine festival in the world. At over 500 years old, the Dürkheim Wurstmarkt is now less internationally famous for sausages than for wine. Every year the Brühlwiesen Kopf attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city in the centre of the Palatinate for nine days during the second and third weekend of September.
The wine festival calendar is available from the hotel reception. For more details on the Dürkheim Wurstmarkt, visit: www.duerkheimer-wurstmarkt.de
The “Stadtfest” is, in contrast, a small festival. The city celebrates for four days after Ascension Day, when the live music, culinary specialities and fine wines from local winemakers create a very friendly and fun atmosphere.
